After our fun filled morning in Boston we headed back to the hotel to freshen up and then headed back to Nina and John's for what they call "steamers" AKA clams in NY. Well, let me tell you...Ro and I are big big fans of clams, we love them and can be known to sit down and eat 50 at a time. Let's just say we had a whole new experience with clams. Seriously who knew they could be so different from what we were used to? Well they are!
The kids enjoyed hot dogs, fruit and corn on the cob along with so much play time that they were exhausted to the point of no return.

So John started to cook the steamers and proceeded to bring out hot water in a bowl and melted butter. OK, the melted butter was nothing new, but the hot water...hmmm? We started to get suspicious!
Then we saw that these clams appeared to have penis looking appendages on them and that we needed a tutorial before we ate any. 
The process was like this... 1. No forks allowed!
2. Pull the clam out of the shell with your fingers.
3. Pull off what they called "the condom".
4. Dip the steamers in hot water to clean them.
5. Dip them in butter and eat.
If you can get passed what looks like a poop sack and eat it you will be fine. I ended up not eating the poop sack and only eating what looked like a penis. Seriously a very scary experience, but we had tons of laughs and they really tasted yummy! I will stick to little neck clams in NY though.

The kids then made us an obstacle course and Nina wanted to get more points than Ro so she upped the anty and blind folded herself.

They girls look so much alike. I had to do a double take in a few pictures!
Some lady had a hoola-hoop class/demo at the Farmer's Market last week. She gives classes in it, I think called "hoops for peace." Anyway, of course Jake made me do it with him. But the hoops were big and kind of heavy and I actually could do it with them. Otherwise, I look ridiculous! How fun!!
LOOOOOOVVVVE STEAMERS. And they are STEAMERS not Clams. Clams are Clams and Steamers are Steamers....by the way, if you're WT you call them "Piss Clams" b/c they squirt in the sand...hahahahhaa
