Here We Go Again!

It is spring and in our house that means "project time"! If I even give a tiny hint about an update I'd like for our house Roland is right on it, he loves projects and loves to make our house look better. I had mentioned in conversation that a tile back splash in the kitchen might look good. The next thing I know we are at Home Depot picking out tile and he spent most of the weekend on his glorious project. Below is a glimpse of what the wall in the kitchen used to look like.
Before...blah, just red and blah! Nothing all too exciting!
Roland was right in his element this past weekend. I think in another life he was a contractor.
In the middle of the project...progress is being made.
The drying process.
The finished product!
It makes the whole kitchen look cleaner and tidier. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Thanks honey, you did a fantastic job!

So READY

Do you think that Leah is trying to tell us something?

The girl is sooooo ready to potty train and she is sitting on that potty all the time and going on it all the time, BUT her mom is not ready. I am so happy that she has an interest in it, but I'm not mentally ready for it quite yet. I am psyching myself up, but I need a little more time. Am I a bad Mama? PS...Sorry for the butt shot!

Go Big or Go Home

When you get a group of parents together that have from one to three children who really need a night out you get the following... SAKE BOMBS!

side note...Lee ordered them and basically had no idea what they were so we ALL had to do them. It was quite an experience and so funny!

SAKE SHOTS!

I even womaned up and tried it for the first time. I have to say that they weren't too bad at all!
Mackenzie felt bad since I was the only girl to do it so the second round she tried one too!

The Gang

To celebrate Lee's homecoming we all enjoyed some time together at Ruyi. It was a year in the making and such a blast!

Lee had about three drinks, a sake bomb and sake shots so check out that smile on his face. HYSTERICAL!

Halftime @ Joe's

In between dinner and dancing we went to our favorite townie bar where we played some classic rock and shuffle board.

These are the BEST girls I know and I am so lucky to have them as my closest friends!

Bust a Move

This is what you get when you add too much food + a few cocktails + sake bombs + sake shots and parents who desperately needed to get out of the house for an adult evening!

Utter dancing craziness and fun! We ran into Katelyn and Katie who danced with us a for a bit too!
It took Zeke a little time to warm up, but watch out once he stepped foot on the dance floor.
Mack was in rare form and we are so happy that she stayed out with us.
I thought I was going to have to beg Roland to get on the dance floor, BUT he actually dragged me out...love it!

We love you Mack!

Cookie Time!

So...the girl won't eat hardly any meat or veggies, BUT give her some Oreos and milk and she will go to town. She watched as I dipped mine in milk and of course she had to do the same thing. It was super cute!
Let's see, how much of this cookie can I fit into my mouth??

Priceless cookie face!

It's OFFICIAL!

With great sadness I announce officially that...

My mom has turned in her retirement notice, her principal and parents have been notified. After 20+ years in the Catholic School System a fantastic teacher will retire. I know I write this with quite a bias, but now that I have had her as a teacher for Seth this year I completely understand what all the hype has been for the past 20 years. She is truly a gifted, creative and talented teacher who puts 110% into her classroom and for her students. Seth has had the most fantastic year not only with Mrs. Puccia his teacher, but with Grandma as well. There has been the perfect balance between the two and I only wish my mom was younger so that she could stick around for another 3 years to have Leah in her class.

I told Miss Mary this morning that she needs to train the upcoming teacher well because in one short year Miss Leah will enter Nursery School. That is SCARY!

My mother's principal wrote a very beautiful letter to all IHC families and in it she covered years of service and what a great asset she is to the school system and she also explained that my mom will love all of the extra time she will have to spend with her grandchildren during her retirement. All in all she looks forward to do whatever whenever she wants!

Another life will start at the end of June and a far less stressful one at that! Enjoy Mom!
Certain quotes just stick!
This hangs from my mom's classroom door and it is so true!

Leah's Easter Dress

Funny story...at Noelle's birthday party Jen opened a gift from her mom to Noelle and this beautiful dress appeared. It was just like one I had picked out from Hanna Anderson for Leah, but that was on back order. I was so bummed, but such is life. So I jokingly said to Jen's mom, "Are you taking orders for that dress Sandi?" She said, "Sure, what size is Leah?"

A week passed and I wasn't going to bug her about it or even ask again about the dress, but Jen texted me and said that her mom wanted Leah's measurements so that she could make her the dress. I was over the top excited about it. When I contacted her about payment for the dress she threw out a ridiculously low price. I won't share the price, but let's just say it was incredibly generous and when I saw the finished product I almost cried it was so flipping adorable!
I got Leah a little white cardigan to go with it in case it is chilly for Easter, but then she can wear it all summer long! Thank you so very much Sandi, we LOVE it!

Randomness

It has been a crazy and hectic week that I hope is coming to an end. We have spent lots of time at home with sick kids and then a whole day in an oncologists office so to say the least the week can end anytime now. On the flip side, the kids are improving and Roland got a clean bill of health so that is ALL that matters to us. I went through some pictures from this past weekend that are pretty random so here they are...
Last weekend it was actually fair weather so we broke out the grill for the first time and it was so delicious!
Don't you love the Beaner with her shades on?
It is officially mud boot season and Leah is loving every minute of it.

Jacob's 5th Birthday

We were so excited when Jacob decided to have his birthday party at the YMCA. Seth's party was so much fun that we couldn't wait to get back there to run and play.
Zeke spent most of the time in the pit!
Mackenzie dressed her two little ones in matching outfits that were so stinking cute!
Lee loves to wrestle with the kids so the four boys tackled him in the pit.
HELLO Sophia!
This was just what Seth needed...to run and play!
Happy 5th Birthday Jacob!
We love you tons!
PS ~ Your party was so fun!
