Health, Wellness & Learning

Monday was Superintendent's Day at work and normally it is one of the most boring days of the year. We all sit in the back and bring magazines and other work to do to get through the boredom. This year was a wonderful surprise. It was titled Health and Wellness Day. It almost reminded me of mini course day back in grade school when you were given a list of activities to choose from and you could guide your own day. So my friend Erin and I chose a Teambuilding workshop and a Weightlifting workshop. What we didn't know was that there was also a health fair set up in the gym with all sorts of things to try. So we ended up skipping our first workshop and we tried acupuncture, got massages, and had our blood pressure taken. It was quite fun. then we ended up skipping our second workshop and attending the teambuilding. That was awesome! We had a team of six people and 2 different activities that had to be completed as a team. TOO FUN! Loved it. The remainder of the day we went out to lunch and worked on report cards and planning in our rooms.

Yesterday I went to SYR with another teacher to attend a workshop titled Enhancy your Effectiveness as a Reading Specialist. It was GREAT. I'm not the type of person to want to sit all day long and listen to someone, I'm not the model student, BUT this woman, Donna Gordon was an amazing speaker and I came away with so many new ideas. I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work. Plus, the added bonus was we went to Olive Garden for lunch, delicious!

Today I'm back to work, but only for one day. I am taking tomorrow off to take Seth to ENT and then sneaking away to help my friend Erin move into her brand new house! She hates to take help from anyone, but I didn't give her a choice.

I also think my friend Ginger is moving into her new house this week, but I can't get ahold of the girl! I'm so excited for her as well. The Ambrose's have their 1st new house! Way to go you will love it and we can't wait to see it!
