Leah's 1st Lacrosse Scrimmage

Leah was super duper nervous last night, but she ended up doing well despite never stepping foot on a lacrosse field before in her life.
It was such a beautiful night to be outside and it was also fun to chit chat with some friends during the games.

So proud of Bean for trying something new and stepping out of her comfort zone.

Weekend in Review ~ May 20th

We had the absolute BEST weekend. We started it all off by going out for drinks and dinner with some of the parents from Leah's soccer team. It was the first time we had ever gotten together and we had a ton of fun. Lots of laughs and of course, amazing food at Ryan's Lookout.
Saturday morning Leah had lacrosse and she is improving weekly. It's definitely a tough sport to get started on, but she is doing great. Her first scrimmage is tonight and that ought to be comical.

Saturday afternoon after Seth's soccer game both he and Leah invited some friends over to play. It is seriously like free babysitting and all of the kids had a ton of fun.

Amalia even came over from across the road.
Saturday night, we had a super mini shrimp boil and the Pettit's came over. It was delish as always.

On Sunday, Grandma Puccia came over to test the trampoline and she was so flipping funny on it. I definitely want to be doing the same things she does when I'm 63.

On Sunday afternoon, Seth went to play at Nico's and we ran down to the boat for the first test drive of the new motor. It felt GREAT to be back on the water. Bring on the summer.

We had a few guests on Sunday evening also. It's the most deer at once we've had in the yard yet.
Last night we went for our weekly visit and brought Gram and Gramp's favorite dinner...clams. They were beyond thrilled.
He eats them raw (gag) and she eats them steamed. I was just a little busy prepping dinner last night, but oh so worth it. It really made them so incredibly happy.

TGIF

I am very appreciative of life in general much more so these days. I spend one evening a week with my grandparents now. I bring dinner, change their sheets, run errands and help with whatever arises. I think we often take for granted how easy it is doing daily activities because we are young and can get around so well. I am very grateful to be able to spend time with them weekly and to enjoy them. You just don't know what's around the corner. The doctor told them that Gramp's heart is only functioning at 15% and now without his left hip things are a challenge. Next week Gramp asked for clams for dinner and I will gladly accept his request. I'll do anything I can for them. (I'll grab the kids McDonald's though, ha)
Have a great weekend everyone. We are off for a fun filled "Parents Night Out" and then the weekend is full of sports and yard work. I can't wait. Life is good.

Girls Weekend

I loaded up my mother and mother-in-law on Friday and we headed out for a little girls weekend away to Rochester. We spent Friday at the outlets and then headed to Sheryl's.

Sheryl took us to a cider bar which was so fun. It was literally my dream bar.

Then we went to a wood fired pizza restaurant which was to die for. I ate almost an entire pizza myself.

On Saturday we went to see Dirty Dancing...the musical and it was fabulous.
Such a fun weekend away and tons of laughs.

Better than Christmas

I got a call from our paver yesterday saying they would be at the house at 8:30am to drop the gravel and get the court prepped. I had no idea that he would call again at 2:30pm and say they were getting ready to start paving... THAT DAY. It was seriously better than Christmas morning.
 Gravel on the basketball court

Just drive right over the front lawn, no worries.

 Paving the court

 Court complete

I felt like a stalker all night long, just watching. It was so much fun to see the process and the final result.
Granger Paving turned Gotham Street into a one lane road and someone called the police reporting it as a dangerous situation so the owner ended up putting two of his men out on the road as flaggers. It was quite the event. So happy and grateful to be able to have this complete this year. Saving does pay off.
