Fantastic Week

This week basically rocked. The weather has been gorgeous, we have been outside as much as possible, our house is coming along amazingly AND our little smartie got a pretty special award at school. I am feeling very blessed this week.
Yesterday at school Seth earned the Academic Excellence Award. His grades this year have been stellar and I am so happy that he was recognized for it yesterday at the awards assembly.

Some of Seth's buddies got awards yesterday as well. What a great group of friends he has.
The other BIG news of the week is the fact that our basement is COMPLETE and they started framing the house today and will be for the next four weeks. The walls are going up and we are thrilled to see it take shape.

It's truly a dream come true. I never ever thought we would do this and it's really happening.

Weekend in Review

Friday night we decided to stay put and just have some family time. We taught Leah how to play Jenga and she loved it. We laughed so much.
The basement is 99% complete and they finished the garage and front porch footers. So exciting.
Saturday we went to a really fun wedding. It was super Pinteresty and we had a ton of fun.
The Photo booth was only part of the fun. Oh, the laughs.

Sunday, we hiked, had a picnic and boated. It was the absolute BEST day of 2015 thus far.
BOGO ice cream at the marina = 2 happy kids
Let the summer begin, the boat is ready to go.
Leah has taken an interest in fishing and hangs out on the end of the gas dock with all the boys. Priceless.

Footers

Progress this week continues on the basement and now they are moving forward with the garage and front porch footers. I am told that the basement will be complete by the middle of next week and framing of the house will commence.

Weekend in Review

This is the latest picture of our new house as of Friday night. They are almost done with the basement. I'm thinking that the floor and back fill will come next.
We had our first fire at Grandma and Poppy's Friday night.
Soccer Saturday came with a win against Freeze 2.
Seth was invited to Parker's 9th Birthday and Leah wormed her way into being asked to stay and swim also. My goodness what a pucker, almost cry face will do for you.
Sunday we headed to Syracuse to try on flower girl and bridesmaid dresses. Leah said she felt like a princess.

This is her dress, but it will be in plum for the wedding.
I was able to try on about 8 different styled dresses and I picked one that is very different from what I usually wear. It's fun and I'm excited about it.

It's Getting Exciting

We certainly have  more than a large hole with gravel in it now. The walls started to rise yesterday and it is super exciting to see this entire process.

Stay tuned...

Weekend in Reivew

This is what our future home looked like as of 5pm Friday night. I am told that the blocks will start going up today and our basement will start taking shape. This will take about two weeks and then framing will begin.

On Saturday we had a whirlwind of a day. Leah had Stage Notes Junior rehearsal from 10:30-12, Seth had a game against The Bandits at 11:10 and we had our nephew's First Communion. We felt awful missing the church ceremony, but it was too much for one time block. We were able to make the luncheon and it was great to see everyone and spend a couple of hours together.
After the lunch we packed up all of our belongings from Mom's and moved into the house we will be staying in for the next few months. It was the hottest day to move, but Mom and Tom helped and made it so much easier. We are so grateful for that help. Then, good friends invited us over for dinner and some chilling out on their deck. It was the perfect night.
Sunday we went for our favorite breakfast at Tin Pan for Mother's Day. It was SO good.
The rest of the day we did yard work and got settled a bit in the new house.
We are now heading into another busy week, but we can handle it.

Thursday Progress

The footer forms were removed and piles and piles of gravel were brought in. They also put in drainage pipes around the footers. I'm anxious to see the walls start to go up today and the progress they make. It is so interesting and I am learning something new each day.

Progress

Digging, stone and concrete...that's what has been on the housing menu this week. I am anxious to go up tonight and see what they have accomplished today. It's a huge learning process for us and we are enjoying every minute.

Huge thank you's go out to all of our family members who have had us for dinner over the last two weeks as well as Mom and Tom for letting us invade their home and taking such wonderful care of us. It has gone SO well and we are actually sad to move to the rental this weekend. Tons going on in our life right now and we are trying to enjoy the journey to the fullest.

Weekend Recap

Since we are in between homes right now we took the opportunity to go away for a mini vacation last weekend...after Seth's soccer game of course. We headed to Rochester to kick back and relax for 24 hours. We stayed at a Marriott and the kids were able to swim swim swim. Leah is taking classes right now so she was able to practice her skills.
Leah was given a Build-a-Bear gift card for Christmas from the aunties so we finally found time to go to one and build her bear. She was so excited.
The whole process was really neat.
Thank you Sheryl and Rachel for making Leah's dream come true. She sleeps with Fluffy every night now and has shown her to everyone.

On Sunday we decided to spent as much time as possible OUTSIDE. The winter was long and we took full advantage of the gorgeous day.
We even dipped our feet in frigid Lake Ontario.

Rochester is a beautiful area.
