No Skates Required

We went to dinner at our friends house on Saturday night and Seth was able to play hockey inside their house. (Are they crazy?) All the way home he begged and begged for hockey sticks. So after church on Sunday we went and got some and he is now hooked. He and Roland played outside all afternoon and then he begged him to go back out after dinner (brrr) to play more. I am just happy that he is off his duff and playing AND that he didn't ask me. Let's just hope he doesn't want to play for real. I'm not a hockey mom.
No snow in January, this is just beyond strange.

Love ~ Hate Relationship

They fight. They play. They hit. They hug. You just never know with these two, but at the end of the day they love each other and after a busy day they begged to have a sleepover together.
We blew up the air mattress and when we left them they each had a pillow, blanket and one stuffed animal. See how that worked out for us?? They can barely fit amongst all the "stuff".

Someone is Learning How to Ski!

Saturday was the most gorgeous day. Thankfully we had lined up a sitter since Leah is boycotting skiing this season and headed right out when Dry Hill opened. The temps were perfect and all of our favorite people joined us as well as some new skiers.
Kristen, Lee and Jacob all took lessons and with some practice we will have even more people to enjoy this sport with. They all loved it and can't wait to get back on the hill.
Way to go Jake!

Seth can't seem to get enough of the white stuff. He skied for two hours before taking a lunch break.

Jacob getting off the lift.

After lunch and Jacob's lesson, Roland helped give him some extra practice by harnessing him up and helping him to practice.

Kristen is doing a great job too. I didn't get any pictures of Lee though.

It's Finally Here!

The snow has fallen, keeps falling and now we are able to get outside and have some fun in it.
In Leah's words, "Mommy this is very fun, keep pulling me!"

Seth's Room Make Over

The time finally came to take the bunks down and share the extra bed with his little sister. Even sadder, the time came that Miss Leah needed to move from a crib to a big girl bed (pics to come of her room).
The new and improved and better yet, clutter free and clean...Seth's Room.

We still need to find something for that stark white wall, but I'm sure we will in time.

I will try to take pics of Leah's room tonight to share.

Our Ugly Party

I can hardly believe that our 2nd annual New Year's party has come and gone. It seems like just yesterday that we were planning our 80s party. Well... our friends did not disappoint us once again, they all came in their ugliest outfits possible, we laughed, we danced, we ate and we rocked out! It was New Year's Eve Eve and we had such a wonderful time. We were especially happy that Lee was home this year to get in on the silly fun. Kristen wasted no time at all with his outfit. She made him a homemade dickie, slapped on some elf shorts and he truly made us laugh. Oh, AND she made him go to The Crystal dressed like this beforehand to have a Tom & Jerry. He must love her a lot.
I have to say that Roland and I make a truly ugly pair on this occasion. If I could wear these socks every day I totally would. They were so fun.

Sheryl and Jess looked especially ugly in their sweaters, barrettes and elastic pants. You go girls.

My girls: Lisa, the school teacher, Kristen, the old lady and Jen, dressed like Mrs. Huxtable from The Cosby Show.

My sweater lit up so that's the glare you see in the picture.

Zeke hand sewed this sweater and it held two beers inside of it. That is creativity right there.

Rod should win an award for that ensemble. That sweater was totally bedazzled.

Then there is my little brother whose sweater was ugly to begin with, but he accessorized it with red and green blown up condoms around his neck. Only Justin.

We have a killer group of friends. We love you all a ton.

We even managed to wrap a scarf around Rocky to make him look extra ugly.

Here are our new friends Erin and Jamie. They were party virgins, but had a blast. We love their creativity too. At the end of the party craziness we asked if we had scared them off for next year. They said no...phew!

Matt is our Rock Band junkie. Once it was turned on we knew where to find him for the remainder of the night.

Mack helped us take a poll for next year's theme. It's between two theme's "Pimps & Hoes" and "Prom". We have a year to decide.

Thank you to our wonderful friends and family for making it such a fun filled night and to Brad and Krista for having the kids over to play until bedtime. It was a huge help!

The Last 2 Christmases

The week after Christmas we still had more celebrating left to do. First stop...The Buckingham's.
Seth was being silly and hiding under the coffee table.

Who knows what these two are talking about. Man stuff!

Last stop on the Christmas express was...The Charlton's. The kids were so well behaved, patiently waiting for gifts.

Leah got a GIANT Dora pillow doll which she proudly sleeps with every night now in her big girl bed.

When all of the gifts were opened and there was a pile of boxes in the living room what else is there to do then jump in them right??

Next up when I can find time to blog is the "Ugly" Party and Seth and Leah's room make overs.

STAY TUNED...

Epic Fail Take 1

Before Christmas #4 at my Dad's house on Tuesday we attempted to teach Leah to ski. She was super pumped UNTIL we got to the top of the hill and she looked down. In her words, "Pick me up Mommy!"
Let's just say she doesn't want to try again this season and she was super happy to just hang out in the lodge, eat and play on my iPhone. Until next year...

Waiting for ther Big Guy in the Red Suit

Our tree on Christmas Eve
The two munchkins insisted on sleeping together and making traps for the elves in Seth's room. If you look closely, Seth is holding onto Leah's foot. PRICELESS.

Christmas Recap (A bit late)

It feels like Christmas was such a long time ago now, when it was really only a couple of weeks ago. Let's just say we were totally Christmased out by the end of it. We have such a wonderful family and we were able to have not only one Christmas, but 5! It all started on Christmas Eve after mass.
Our kids love to lounge around in their favorite blankets so I found them each a new special Christmas blanket that we gave them to sleep with that evening. They were super excited!

We sprinkled oats and sparkles on the driveway so that the reindeer knew where to land.

When the big morning arrived the kids were off.the.wall.excited.

Seth even got a school spirit shirt which he has already proudly worn.

Christmas #3...Lowville

We sit in the back away from the craziness.

The yearly "cousins" picture.

Seth and Leah were done by this point in the evening so they were less than cooperative to get into the picture. Seth even fell asleep on the way home.
