Boys Campout

Saturday night was a night that the boys have been asking for for the longest time and the weather cooperated so we spent the evening on the boat followed by an all boys camp out. The lake has finally warmed up so we grabbed a pizza (as always) and spent two hours swimming and eating our hearts out.
Leah is completely and utterly obsessed with eating pizza on the boat so she wouldn't stay in the water very long before she got her "num nums". Once her belly was fully, back in the water she went.

After an almost brush the the water police (story for another time) we headed home for a double family sleepover. The boys slept in our mansion tent and the girls slept inside.

We cooked up some giant s'mores and pudgy pies.

Jake's s'more was bigger than his mouth could fit. He was pretty darn sticky in the end.

I'm sure Kristen is going to give me a talking to after posting this pic.

The Taj Mahal of tents. You know my husband, he will do just about anything to get me to go camping and buying the largest tent possible is just the start.

It was a successful night and all four boys successfully slept outside until 6am. Leah and I slept fantastic inside, but Lindsey wasn't digging her pack and play so Kristen didn't get the best nights rest. It was a great night and a wonderful memory.

Can Am Parade '11

Saturday was one of our annual summer traditions. We never ever miss The Can Am Parade in Sackets Harbor. This year the weather was especially beautiful and we were able to get some seats in the shade so we were golden.
Leah is just like her brother in the fact that she loves a good parade. What's not to love though when you have a comfy seat and your older brother runs around catching candy for you!

We ran into a friend of Seth and Jake's from school, Morgan Waite, so she sat with the boys.

Seth had a crush on Morgan this year so he was all smiles as he sat with her at the parade.

The parade was fantastic this year with a record number of bands floats and candy of course.

Taking a Stroll Down Memory Lane

Last Friday I took my mom and the kids for a little trip to Oswego. Roland travels there for business at least once a week, but I haven't been back in two years. We have such wonderfully fond memories of that city and had a wonderful college and graduate school experience there so we try and go back and enjoy the places we loved when we can.
Since we were planning the trip I got online and found a new letterbox that was actually hidden on campus. We found it easily and I let Seth stamp it and write his name in our notebook. It was placed right by the water on campus so it was super fun to find.

Seth took this picture and it turned out so good, I was thrilled!

In the last few years the college has built a brand new ice rink, college store and much more in the middle of campus. This was the first time I was able to go inside and see it. It is so beautiful!

After our walk around campus we drove down to Rudy's. It's our very favorite fish place right on the water. We ordered a bunch of yummies including lobster bites, then we skipped rocks by the lake.

I bought Seth a basketball from the campus bookstore and I swear it hasn't left his side since it was given to him.

We drove down past where Roland and I lived together in college and it looked the same. We had some fantastic Harborfest parties out on that front porch. It was a great first apartment and we will always remember is fondly.

We also drove by Paul's Big M which is where Roland and I worked while we were in college. Roland was a night manager and I worked in the deli (ugh) and then moved up to cashier. It was a fun place to work while we lived in Oswego.

It was such a wonderful day and it felt great to get to see some of the places that hold special memories for us.

Lazy Sunday's

We are finally comfortable bringing friends and family down to the boat now so we are taking advantage of all of this beautiful weather. Last Sunday we invited out good friends The Voss' to hang out and have lunch on the lake.
It was a bit rougher than we had planned so we made the most of our morning on the lake.

Noey is so stinking cute.

The kids snacked their way through the morning while taking turns playing water guns and swimming.

It was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning.

SURPRISE....Happy 60th Big Ro

After many months of planning the day finally arrived and with lots of help we all gave Big Ro a 60th Surprise Birthday Party. Surprise parties are tricky, but this one went off without a hitch thank goodness.
Tons of family and friends came to show their love and there was tons of food and drinks so everyone had a great time.

We all stormed the street waiting for him to arrive home and it was such an amazing feeling as he drove around the corner.

Cousins

Hugs all around!

The kids ran and played all night long.

It was truly a memorable night.

Happy 60th Big Ro, Dad and Papa. We love you tons!

The Aunties Come to Visit

It doesn't happen often, but when it does we take full advantage and spend as much time with the aunties as we can. This past weekend Sheryl and Jess came into town for Big Ro's surprise party, but they needed to stay hidden until Saturday night so we took them on the boat Friday night and then had a bonfire in the backyard until the wee hours of the morning.
It was a perfect evening on the lake. The water was warm and calm. We ordered pizza and swam all night long.
It was also the 3rd time in a week that we had pizza on the boat, but we tried a new specialty pizza and we were very pleased. We should be the spokes people for The Pizza Shack since we are such frequent customers.

Right before we headed in we took a little ride down towards Henderson and Leah was hysterical all bundled up in her cover up.

When we got home we fired up the backyard and invited the Voss' over. Since one of them needed to stay home with the girls they left it a surprise as to who was going to come over. We were shocked when Jen peddled up. Usually it is Rod, but Jen took the opportunity to get out and have a few beers with us on her own.

We broke out the pudgey pie maker and tried a new concoction...peanut butter and chocolate pie. It was totally Jess' idea and it was delicious.

We also served it on very expensive china...a Cheez-it box!

I believe Jen rode home at 1:15am, I went to bed at 1:30am and the rest of the die hards stayed up until 2am. I know I am only 33, but it totally kicked my butt the next day. It was definitely worth it though, we had some serious laughs.

Rocky also got some serious loving as he slept most of the evening in Jess' lap. He is such a lovable pup.

Daycare Waterslide Party

For the second year in a row we invited all of Seth's friends from daycare over for a water slide party. Last year there were only two kids, but this year NINE kids came over. I have to say, they were all so well behaved and there wasn't one problem. They played and swam for two hours and Seth had a blast with all of his buddies.

Mattox asked when he could come over again and Seth asked when he could come and play at daycare....SOON!

It was another great summer day!
