It's in the Water!

After a pretty stressful and costly weekend our new (to us) boat is in the water in our slip and ready to go. We need to go down and clean it up a bit and vacuum it out, but it is just about ready to go.
It definitely needs some TLC, but it is a first boat and we can only go up from here!
Stupid birds pooped on our new cover!
Come see us, Slip #3 at Bedford Creek Marina in Sackets Harbor!
Dear Mother Nature,
Please cancel the rain you now have planned for Saturday. We would really like to get out on the boat and enjoy it. You can move the rain until Sunday or Monday of next week. That would be fine with us. Please reconsider you plans and grant us this one wish. We are begging!
Sincerely,
The (excited) Charlton Family

Memorial Day Fun

On Monday since the boat was being repaired we stayed close to home and enjoyed the extra warm weather. (PS~ The boat is fixed and ready to go. We went down last night and took life jackets and such. We just need to clean, vacuum and make some minor fixes and we will be set for Saturday.)
Leah is new to everything this year so I love to just sit back and watch her try to decide what to do next.
This is the way she looks 98% of the time and we love it! She is such a happy girl!
Brad and Krista gave us this bike last year and we searched all over the place, but couldn't remember where we had stored it for the winter. Finally it dawned on us that we put it under the deck so we cleaned it up and she loved it.
Seth had the most fun of all!
Leah tried to run away!
Basking in the wonderful sun!
Now Seth is ready for the big pool AND the lake!

Safety First

Seth is MORE than proud of his newest accomplishment and he is willing to perform a bike show for any interested viewers. With this being said, there have been many mishaps and falls along the way. Thank goodness he is so diligent about wearing his helmet. After our dinner at the Voss' last weekend Seth came home with bruise after bruise on his legs and knees so we decided to get him some knee pads and there are definitely coming in handy.

You can catch us riding around our neighborhood nightly now as we take family bike rides.

Wish Us Luck!

My Mom and Tom have planted a raised garden for the past few years with us at their house and we love every minute of it. We are always checking it and we get so excited when the veggies start to grow and we can pick them. We decided to try our hand at our own little garden this year.
We had no idea that this box would hold so much dirt. I think we bought over 30 bags of top soil.
Plus we picked one of the hottest days in May to plant it.
My grandparents bought us this giant tomato plant so we planted it first.
Yes, this is me getting extremely dirty, not something that happens too often.
Here it is! It doesn't look like much right now, but hopefully by mid summer it will blossom. We have two tomato plants, yellow squash, cucumbers and yellow peppers. Wish us luck!

Let the Summer Begin!

On Sunday we loaded up the kids and headed to Alex Bay. Seth asked if we could go mini golfing so we thought it would be fun to go to the bay and golf and then walk around downtown and check out the new dock.

Leah did not want to keep this hat on and fought with me the entire time, but I won the battle. We don't need our bald beauty to get a sunburned head.
I diverted her attention with food! Works every time!
"A hole in one Mommy!"
We had to take a picture of this crazy truck in the bay. It had all sorts of interesting "stuff" glued to it.

SURPRISE!

On Saturday we all worked as a family and helped to throw Bonnie a surprise 60th birthday party! Sheryl and Jess came in on Friday evening and stayed with us to hide out from Bonnie. Saturday morning after a gigantic breakfast we were fueled and ready to get going on the party. We headed to The Party Store to grab the balloons and then to The Italian American Club to decorate.
We compiled a ton of old and new pictures of Bonnie and created giant poster collages.
Just about the cutest cousins ever!
Smiley Girl
SURPRISE! She had no idea thank goodness!
Luke was so cute. He couldn't understand why Grandma was crying and that they were happy tears!
Bonnie babysat Andrew Charney from birth until he was 5 years old. Many years ago he and his family moved back to PA and he graduates high school in a couple of weeks. I think this was her best surprise of them all!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a fun filled night! I'm not sure if Shari reads this blog like Aunt Dee Dee, but please thank Marc again. He did such a wonderful job and we really appreciate it!
