Weekend in Review ~ September 24th

Seth had picture day at Wiley last Friday and boy did he look handsome.
On Saturday evening we headed to The Tug Hill Winery for a double wedding reception. Two of my cousins who had gotten married out of town decided to have a joint reception/family reunion so that all of the family from the north country could get together and see them. It was a lovely evening.

We headed to Mexico on Sunday to go apple picking.  The weather was absolutely perfect.

On our way home we stopped for a picnic in Henderson and cooked out by the water.
Seth's aim was a little off and he ended up testing out the water temperature to retrieve his ball.
It was a fabulous first weekend of fall.

Weekend in Review ~ September 17

We made very little plans this last weekend and it turned out to be the best of the best. The kids were each allowed to ask one friend to come home with them from school on Friday night to play and for dinner. That went very well and all of the kids were excellent. The moon was so amazing that evening that we had to take the traditional picture.
On Saturday it was supposed to rain, but Mother Nature fooled us thank goodness so we headed to Lowville to the Cream Cheese Festival. The kids had an utter blast. They are just old enough for all of the truly fun inflatables now.

Both kids climbed the rock wall this year.
We even ran into some friends from town.
Cheesecake on a stick. Roland was in heaven.
Last night we had our third kickball game. It was interesting to say the least. The other team was excellent and somewhat cheaters. We lost, but we had fun. That's all that matters.

The kids have so much fun hanging out while we play.

The young boys all played football.
A few of us went to Buffalo Wild Wings after the game. It was tons of fun.

Lowville Dinners Resume

During the summer the kids and would go and visit Gram and Gramp during the day and take them for rides, but now that we are back to our school routine we have started going up one evening a week and taking dinner to eat with them. Gram gets right to work helping with homework and we are able to chit chat and see one another for a couple of hours. It is truly priceless.

My gram will tell you that she eats a minimum of 25-30 tootsie rolls per day. She makes me SMILE. Love her to pieces.

Roland's Birthday Weekend

On Roland's actual birthday evening he chose to go to Wood Boat for dinner. It was a gorgeous night on the river and our food was excellent.

The sky was just like a postcard.
Saturday night we went out with four other families to celebrate many birthdays. Our waitress was amazing. Serving 18 people couldn't have been easy.

Sunday evening we had the parents over for a birthday dinner and the finale to the birthday weekend.
Phew, that was a busy birthday. We love you Roland.

The Kickin' Wings

Roland had a grand idea this summer and actually made it come to life. We joined the Watertown Parks and Rec Adult Kickball League and we are all having a FLIPPING blast. We have the best friends ever who are all willing to get out there and try something new. Tons of laughs and lot of exercise is happening. It's so much fun.

Our second game was this past Tuesday and our actual jerseys arrived so we looked all sorts of professional and we are now 2-0 and loving life.

First Day of School 2016

It was a big day in the Charlton house on the first day of school this year. We have merged to two different schools and both kids were super duper excited to start the year. Leah wasn't deathly afraid this year, yet extra excited that she was going to know so many kids in her class (half of her soccer team to be exact) as well as the fact that she isn't the new kid at school anymore. Roland said she walked in all smiles and ready for 2nd grade.
Seth was actually super psyched to start Wiley. He also found out that he had tons of friends in his class this year and he got the teacher he really wanted.

Leah has Mrs. Russell this year.

This was the only picture Roland could get of Seth. As soon as Roland pulled up he got a quick, "Love you Dad" and he was out and off.
