Weekend in Review/House Progress

To say that there is a lot going on at the new house is an understatement. At any given time there are many many workers there doing anything from installing molding/trim, painting, hooking up light fixtures, installing the furnace, tile, etc. The driveway is always full of trucks and we are so very pleased. My list has significantly shortened and my trips to Lowe's and Home Depot have come to an end (happy sigh). We are three weeks until completion and feeling a bit antsy for the process to be over.
The siding is complete...yahoo. Some stone work needs to be done on the bump out of the garage and then the pillars on the porch and the outside will be done.
Some exterior light fixtures have been installed.
It was such a beautiful weather weekend that we took the opportunity to sit outside Saturday night and have a little picnic.
By Sunday we were all exhausted and just wanted to chill out.
Living room ceiling is just about done. On Monday the painter was finishing it. This picture was from Sunday though.
There are still many little things to be completed, but each day more and more gets chipped away.
Feeling very blessed, but ready to get moved in.

Finally

You might not think that I would get so excited about concrete, but I AM. The front porch was finally poured yesterday and I am over the top excited about it. I'm excited because the sand is no more, (it was messy and tracked into the house) but more importantly, now they can finish the siding. Yipeee.
Inspection #4 was today so here's hoping it all went well. One more to go and we move in, YAY.

Sherman Open House

Another school year, a new school and TWO happy kids. Life is GOOD.
Both kids have adjusted really well to the new school and what I think is the most special is that this is the first time ever that they have been in the same school with their cousin Luke. It warms my heart to think that Luke picked Seth to eat lunch with him for his special classroom reward last week and that the kids see each other daily. I'm all about family so this pretty much ROCKS.

It's Christmas in September

Right now every day at around 4pm feels like Christmas. I walk into our house after work and feel so incredibly grateful. Mr. Roggie installed 90% of our kitchen yesterday and it took my breath away. I can't wait to live there and cook and make memories. It's really a dream come true.

Yesterday the tile guys had come and did the tile in the kids bath and the laundry room and it looks awesome too.
More of the hardwood floors were put down, pocket doors installed, porch ceiling installed and more painting was done. It is all coming together and we are so excited. Can't wait to go up tonight.

Cream Cheese Festival

After Seth's soccer game on Saturday we all went our separate ways. Seth's went to SYR with a friend to Sky Zone, Roland went golfing with some friends and I took Leah and a friend to the Cream Cheese Festival. Leah needs more girl time in her life so this was the perfect opportunity to do it.
Leah and Adi has so much fun.
They tried all of the age appropriate bounce houses, had ice cream and a Slush Puppy.

Girls Day was a complete success.

House Progress

Saturday morning when we went to see the house it felt like it was Christmas morning. They had gotten SO much done on Friday and we were/are so excited. Seth's room is painted in his SU colors and it looks super cool.
Mr. Roggie started installing the kitchen and my jaw dropped when I saw it. The pictures don't even do it justice, it looks flipping awesome. He comes back today to install the upper cabinets.
Leah loves her new purple room.
The island is starting to take shape.
 The hardwood floors are progressing.
They installed the window on the peak.
Siding is 90% complete. All that is left is the front porch.
There will be stone on the bump out, thus why it isn't sided.

HUGE Progress this Week

The siding is 3/4 done and we are so happy with the color we have chosen.

The fireplace has been installed and drive walled.
The interior doors arrived and I LOVE them. I think they are so fun.
Today, the circular window of the peak is being installed, hardwood floors are being installed, more painting and the bathroom vanities are being installed. Happy Day.

House Update

Living room ceiling (our fun splurge)

Even though it has only been 4 months, this house building process seems like it has been for years. I have huge huge respect for everyone who has worked on our house. It is tough work, it is a ton of math and everything has to fit like a puzzle. The entire process has been very interesting and I have grown as a person because of it. I am so much more patient now and I just keep telling myself, "It'll get done."
Fireplace frame: The fireplace actually was installed yesterday, but I didn't take a picture of it last night.
 Back decking was installed.
We decided to go with the composite decking so that we never have to stain it or worry about splinters.
 Front of the house.
Back covered deck will be screened in next summer.
Siding progress
There are many things happening this week. The men siding the house continue working, the painters are starting as well as the tile guys. I also believe that our kitchen install starts Friday or Monday.

Rewind: Rafting Trip

I almost forgot to post pictures from our rafting trip this summer. They were on a disc so I finally uploaded and saved them to my computer. It wasn't a very warm day, it wasn't very sunny, but boy did we have some fun on the Black River.

Thank you to all of our adventurous friends who now LOVE rafting as much as we do. I'm thinking it will become a yearly tradition now.

Happy 40th RJC

Last week Roland turned 40 so we tried to celebrate as much as we could. The only problem with that was that he was in Texas for work on his birthday. Luckily, his employees were super sweet to him and when he returned we spoiled him.

He even got presents from GE; coasters and a super neat beer glass.

Thank you Kristen, Lee, Jacob and Lindsey.
Leah was so excited to give Daddy her "card".

Saturday night we went out with some friends to celebrate.
Sunday, to finish off his birthday weekend, Roland went golfing with his brother and 6 other friends. I hope that he enjoyed his 40th. We love you Roland.
