Sun Burn Yet Again!

I got another sunburn yesterday in such random areas so I'm a hurting unit today! We tried having Seth nap at Grammy's yesterday so that I could lay by the pool with my mom and brother and relax. He hasn't slept in the pack and play in ages so I was a little leary, but he did awesome and he actually took a 3 hour nap. I'm thrilled, now I can get some sun and R&R once in a while if I'd like to. I think the dreaded teething is returning. We've had a pretty peaceful three days and then last night all hell broke loose and there was no pleasing him. I just wish that one would break through to ease his pain. I told him last night that I wished I got take the pain for him. I said I had you and that was pain, what's a little tooth now and then!

Today my MOL is going to watch Seth for a bit while my mom and I go and pick strawberries and then run up so see my Gramp who is in the hospital. My MOL works like mad so when she does have time off she is so good about wanting to see or watching Seth for a bit. We so appreciate it!

Then, we have to make a final pit stop before the Gilbert's arrive and pick up some breakfast foods and drinkies for when the babies go to sleep. Not in that order of course.

My brother gave me a tip last night that I need to follow up on, as you know, I am an obessed Napoleon Dynamite fan, they have ringtones with his voice. I'm all over that now!

Flying Trip

Seth, my Mom, and I took a flying trip to Syracuse this morning. We were in a mad search for an outfit for Seth's baptism on the 16th and I just needed to be out and about. We stopped at Christmas Tree Shops, my all time fav store and I got a few needed items and some not so needed items as well. I'll have to take a pic of it when I blow it up, but I got Seth this inflatable car for the pool that he sits in and it has a roof and steering wheel and everything. Can't wait to try it out! Of course the price was even better, only $6.99!

Then we went to Burlington Coat Factory another fav and I found a simple outfit. I'm not one for one of those dresses or white suits, but for anyone out there that is, that is fine. To each his/her own right! So I found a simple little outfit and we're all set.

Ro just called and he got rear ended on Arsenal so he was waiting for the police to arrive. The poor guy had to do two days of training in front of his computer and then today he is actually out and about and he gets in an accident. Just doesn't have the luck this week.

The weather has started to cooperate today so that is awesome, lots of sun and very hot! Not too much on the agenda for the rest of the week, just getting ready for our guests.

Note to self: TAKE SOME NEW PICS ASAP!

Stuff Stuff Everywhere There is STUFF!

I feel like the toys are taking over the house and Seth is only 5 months old. We have 2 jumpy gadgets, a swing, an exersaucer, a floor gym, a vibrating chair, and a rocking chair. Basically my house has been over taken and it is driving me nuts. Either we need a new house or less stuff!

Well enough of my venting, I feel better now!

I'm working on day two of my summer vacation and I'm having a little trouble with the transition. I was into such a great routine going to work and coming home and walking and such. Now, I'm feeling a little stir crazy. I just need to get into a new routine and I'll feel better. I'm not used to having all this time on my hands and I just need to figure out some activities for Seth and I to do.

The rain seems to have lifted for the meantime here so we were able to take a nice walk this morning and then pick up some goodies for a little girl who will be coming to visit this weekend. Tonight if the rain holds off Ro will be able to golf and Seth and I will go to my moms for dinner. I love when other people cook for me lately. I used to love to cook, I'd make these elaborate meals and take all sorts of time, but now, no time so no elaborate meals!

Did I mention that my hair has been falling out like MAD for over a couple of months now. My friends tell me it is normal, but it is down right gross. I find hair everywhere and I'm constantly vacuuming it up and picking it off the bathroom floor. AHHH, this has to stop soon!

This is Seth's first attempt at eating a biter buscuit, what a mess!

1st Day of Vacation

So today is my first day of vacation and it is flippin' raining out and Seth is teething so he isn't in the best spirits! Not exactly the best start to my summer vacation, but things will be looking up, our friends will be here in only 5 days for some much needed fun!

Ro got some little stomach bug yesterday so he was down for the count most of the day. I took the opportunity to get some things done around the house before our guests arrive. I still have a list a mile long to accomplish, but I have all week so we'll get it done in time!

I'm so excited about going to the farmer's market this Wednesday. It is just one of those summer activities that you wait for all year long. I am also going to try and visit my grandparents this week depending on Seth's teething moods.

My mom and I went to the movies last night and saw The Breakup, I love those kinds of movies so I laughed my butt off and had a lot of fun! Other then that, there isn't too much excitement in my life as of today. It's rainy and gloomy!

Seth's first try in a hot tub! My friend Erin is holding him.

This is my friend Erin whom I threw a baby shower for last week at work. She makes me very envious, she is 6 1/2 months pregnant and she doesn't have to wear maternity clothes yet! AHH! She is very lucky. Anyhow, check out her cake. She is doing a bee theme so I asked our nurse, who also makes cakes the make her a cake with this theme and look what she came up with, it is amazing. The hive on the top is actually cake. It was so fun and she was surprised and so very greatful!

Happy Birthday, Graduation, and Summer!

What a whirlwind of events we have been to in the past two days! It has been two days of firsts for Mr. Seth Patrick. Friday afternoon Seth went to his first pool party and had tons of fun with tons of kids. Next year he will be running around and swimming with them. Then I will be super busy!
Friday night we went to a festival at our church. We go to an Italian Chatholic church and they have an Italian carnival every June. We ate ourselves silly and Ro had a few beers, but not as many as usual. I had fresh lemonade, homemade taffy, fritters, and stuffed shells with meatballs. Needless to say I was stuffed by the time we left. Luckily Grammy and Grandpa were there to assist with Seth. The little stinker is 19lbs. 13oz. and darn heavy to hold. I'm gaining major muscles! And YES, we love the Yankees and all of you Red Sox and Indians fans can just stand back, we can not be converted! Seth already has two Yankees outfits that we love! Today we went to my sisters graduation and then to my dads for some homemade chocolate cake that is to die for! Seth also went on their trampoline for the first time. He was laughing like crazy! Finally, we have no plans tomorrow on Sunday except to prepare for our friends the Gilbert's arrival next weekend!! Hip Hip Hooray! I do start my official two month vacation on Monday. I feel like I'm back on maternity leave, but this time it is PAID! YIPPEE! Seth and I have no major plans this summer. We will do lots of walking, visiting, going to the Farmer's Market on Wednesday's, and just hanging out! We love visitors, so anyone to reads this, come on over and visit us!

I'm ALIVE I Promise

OK, what a flippin' crazy week it has been. Last Thursday I was told that I would have to move classrooms. I literally had the largest classroom you had ever seen and now I basically moved into a classroom a third of the size. So I needed to down size all of my stuff. I threw out tons of junk, but I still have too much. Oh, well I'll make due. So this week I have been working on moving all my stuff, sorting, organzing, you name it. Plus it has been like 100 degrees with all the humidity and no deodorant seems to be working, but that is a whole other issue in itself that we will get to later!

So let's back up a bit. We had a great weekend, a great time at my gramps 80th b-day party, and a great first Father's Day. Ro was able to golf and kick back a little.
The t-shirt that I designed for my Gramp, the backside had each grandchild's face in front of a gold coin. It was so fun to create!
Wednesday we had our annual awards day at school and this year the theme was Pirates, so below are some pics of students and teachers who really got into the spirit!
Ember doesn't look so thrilled that I'm taking her pic.
A co-worker Rob with his student Maria.
Our principal who isn't much for costumes, but was a good sport.

Today I threw one of my close friends and co-worker a surprise baby shower at work, I was stressing major because I had never thrown a surprise anything before, but it all went off without a hitch and she was indeed surprised and sooooo greatful! I love to make people happy and see smiling faces so it was a joy. I left my camera at work so I'll have to post some pics tomorrow from the shower.

Today was the last day with the kids and it was bitter sweet. You are always sad to see the great kids go, but not so sad with the little devils. Our entire staff always does the wave in a long line for all the buses on the last day of school every year and every year I get so teary eyed. You work so hard with all those kids all year that it is sad to see them leave. But, I have to remember, they will be back in 2 months. Tomorrow is our end of the year luncheon and then a pool party at a friend of mines house. It will be Seth's first pool party so I will definately have to take some pics. I even got him some of those "little swimmers". I can't wait to see his face when his toes touch that water for the first time.

Saturday my sister graduates from high school and Saturday night a friend of ours turns 30 so we have a surprise party to attend. Nothing like a crazy busy weekend, the only relief is that I don't work for something like 10 weeks.

So the countdown is now 9 days until the Gilbert's arrive! YIPPEEE!

Shell shocked Seth look

I will try now that I will be off from work to be a better blogger, this week was just so insane at work that I had no time and I really missed it. It is like therapy for my mind! So, to everyone who reads this I'm Back!

Happy Birthday/Father's Day!

A GREAT BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOES OUT TO MY GRANDPA TODAY! He turns 80 years young and it is such a testiment to be 80, happy, healthy, and ready to keep going. We love you gramp!

What a busy and fun weekend we have been having. We have seen tons and tons of family, some that we haven't seen since our wedding almost 4 years ago! My grandfather turns 80 years old today and we had a big celebration dinner last night with all 18 members of my moms family. Seth was the hit of the party of course and it was so interesting to see how people whom I don't usually see around babies intereacted with Seth. Everyone was great! My grandfather LOVES frog legs and he was in his glory just eating away, he must have eaten 8-10 sets of legs and had some to take home for dinner tonight! YUCK, but whatever makes him happy makes us all happy. Seth and mommy and daddy also survived our first night out to dinner at a restaurant together. If it wasn't so hot and muggy it would have been perfect, but Seth was great and he didn't mind being passed around to 18 different people throughout the night either!

Seth with Great-Grandma Mihalyi who did not want to share him with anyone.

All of the grandchildren with Gram and Gramp.

Seth after he had enough partying.

Happy Father's Day to my one and only as well. Ro went golfing with my dad, step-dad, and a friend this morning and then my dad treated him to lunch. Seth and I treated Ro to an hour massage yesterday and he came home refreshed. Tonight I'll be cooking Ro's favorite meal and we will just hang out on the deck! Good times!

Happy 1st Father's Day Daddy, I LOVE YOU!

Let the Countdown Begin!

After I titled this blog I got to thinking that I now have more then one countdown going. We have the end of school countdown along with the countdown to the Gilbert's arrival! Seth and I had a very special surprise yesterday afternoon. Katie and Adam stopped in to see us. They came all the way from NYC to surprise Katie's dad for Father's Day and scout out reception locations. Katie was way too funny, she didn't ask me to be in the wedding, she told me, "You are going to be in my wedding!" I knew I was, but her approach was funny! They stayed for about an hour and Adam was so good with Seth and of course I took some pics. They have set their wedding date for May 17, 2008! I can't wait!

I got some sad news at the end of the work day yesterday, I have to move my classroom. Right now I have the BEST classroom in the entire building. Back in the day it was the home ec room and it is huge. It has sinks and tons of windows and tons of storage. Oh, well there are worse things that could happen so I'm sucking it up.

Today is the last and final day for the Napoleon Dynamite quotes, you are all probably tired of them so I think I have more then one for a special treat!

Reminiscing...

My brother came over last night to have me fix his bad hair cut and we got reminiscing about the past. When my brother was in high school he used to come over every Thursday night to watch the O.C. and have dinner. Two springs ago he helped me scrape my garage when we were repainting and he found this pair of safety goggles and decided that he would act like an old Jewish man with a lisp. If you heard this impression you would literally pee your pants so I had to take pictures of him, of course. While I was looking for this photo I realized just how many pictures that I have taken over the years. I counted 21 photo albums in my collection and I have already taken and downloaded onto my computer 644 pictures of Seth and he is only 4 1/2 months old. Needless to say I am a picture freak, but I will have great memories when I am old and gray!

As promised, we continue our Napoleon Dynamite quote of the day with an added little treat, I dug out a picture of Justin wearing my "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt! He definately has the Napoleon facial expression!

I have to say that I LOVE the word DANG now along with FLIPPIN' and GOSH! People look at me like I'm crazy, but they are fun to say and use in everyday talks. I challenge you to use them the next time you are just talking to someone!

One last thing, I took Seth for a walk in the stroller last night and it was super sunny outside so I put his new sunglasses that I bought him on and we are walking down the street. I'm singing with my ipod and just going and soooooo many people drove by and took double takes at Seth it was hysterical. Bascially, they either LOVED the sunglasses or thought I was super WEIRD. They were attention getters.

I Found It! I Found It! I Found It!

I FINALLY found a "Vote for Pedro" baby onesie! Hip Hip Hooray! Look for upcoming pics of Seth in this little number in 5-6 business days!

Big Boy!

Hello to all! All of a sudden I looked at Seth last night and realized that he is growing up and FAST! He is a rolling maniac now and just basically can't sit still. He definately fits the name we have given him, "On-the-Go-Seth"! So we tried out the high chair for the first time last night and he liked it. Tonight we will try peaches as our entree. He grabbed the spoon right out of my hand. He's Mr. Independent at 4 1/2 months old! Watch out!

In other news we have many upcoming events to be excited about. Here is our social calendar of events:

** Great-Grandpa turns 80 this weekend and we are going out to dinner with Seth for the first time.

** Seth is going to meet all of his Great-Aunts and Uncles on Grammy's side this weekend.

** Father's Day is this Sunday and we have many special things planned for Daddy!

** The Gilbert's are coming for a visit in July. HOORAY!

** The Mt. Carmel Feast is next weekend. We'll be showing our Italian pride!

** Mommy is almost done with work for the summer.

____________________________________________________________________

Moving on, as promised we have our Napoleon Dynamite quote of the day:

My 10 year reunion is coming up this summer, how crazy is that? I'm starting to feel a little old. Oh well it should be a good weekend. I'm excited/nervous about the whole thing. It ought to be interesting to see some old faces, many whom I haven't seen in 10 years, others I see all the time. We will have to wait until August for pics from the reunion though, stay tuned!

Tribute Week to Napoleon Dynamite

We had the best weekend despite the rain, but this week is supposed to be ALL sun ALL week and I can't wait. Break out the stroller, the back pack, the front pack, whatever. We are going outside to soak up some of the sun while we can.

I received my "croquet" pin from Nin in the mail and I love it, you are so creative. It is proudly displayed on my favorite jacket for all to see.

So I will dedicate a small portion of this blog every day this week to my all time FAVORITE movie the one the only... Napoleon Dynamite. When this movie first came out my brother brought it over and thought I'd hate it. Well, after watching it like 10 or more times now I am totally obsessed. I have my own Vote for Pedro t-shirt and I have looked everywhere for a onesie for Seth, but haven't found one. If anyone see's a baby onesie that says Vote for Pedro I WANT IT! My brother and I have already planned for Seth's first viewing of this movie, of course with fountain sodas. Each day this week I will enlighten you with my many favorite lines from this movie.

CHAPSTICK FOR ANYONE?!

I found some video clips online, I just need to figure out how to insert them into the blog. I'm working on it!

My sleeping, peaceful, huggable, loveable little man!

A Weekend of Firsts

Let's try this one more time. I had this all set this morning and it booted me off and didn't save, I wanted to cry! It has been a rainy weekend, but a weekend of firsts for Seth. Friday night we went to the Relay for Life parade and Seth loved it. I put him on my front and he had a perfect view of everything and everyone. Saturday night we went to cousin Lexy's dance recital and Seth was once again, excellent and he loved all of the people and the music. He and I danced in the aisle, Daddy videoed us, but I'm not sure how to add video to this so I'll have to ask Nina and get back to you all on that. Today, we took Seth to Taco Bell for the first time. I had a craving, but don't I always. It is a good thing that I am so busy all of the time or else I'd weigh 200lbs.! I think I already put this picture on yesterday, but I'm sure you liked it so here it is again!

Moving on, Roland and I have become obsessed with the movie Old School, this weekend, it is flippin' hysterical so we have watched it on Friday night, Saturday night, and I bought the DVD at Walmart yesterday so that whenever we need a good laugh we are all set.

Here is my favorite quote from the movie, it's from Will Farrell (Frank):
Just a little background, Frank is running down a main street totally naked.
His Wife: Frank, WHAT are you doing?
Frank: We're going streaking through quad to the gymnasium.
His Wife: Who is going streaking?
Frank: They're coming.
His Wife: Get in the car Frank!
Frank: OK, hey honey do you think KFC is open?

I guess maybe you should just watch it, because this does not do any justice to how funny this scene is! Stay tuned for more quotes from movies that we love! Just wait until I pull out some quotes from Napoleon Dynamite.

Seth finally fits into his t-shirt that reads "MY BIG BROTHER IS A PUG", love it! He got so many compliments on it. Thank you to Sue, Brian, and Elizabeth, it is an amazing gift and we love it!

One last comment, favorite quote from my husband for today...

" Seth, did you pee yourself, it looks like you peed yourself!" He did and we have our 2nd outfit of the day on now! :)

Things that I LOVE about My Family...

It is a rainy and cold day here in Watertown and as I look at my husband, son, and dog I feel so fortunate. I am such a lucky girl and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. So I thought I'd list a few of the many things that I LOVE about my family.
* Kissing Seth's chubby and always warm cheeks.
* Rocky's snoring, even though I can't sleep near him, his snoring is comforting.
* Roland bringing me home a Dr. Pepper fountain soda or a Wild Cherry Pepsi just because.
* Seth in his Jump-a-Roo, jumping like a mad man.
* Rocky always being right by your side, you can never hide from him.
* Roland taking Seth to the sitter on Friday's so I can stop and get myself breakfast.
* Seth's CONSTANT smile, it lights up your day.
* Roland outbidding someone on Ebay to buy Seth Baby Einstein videos and then having them come in Japanese. He was so proud of himself. (We did figure out how to play them in English luckily!)
*Seth's people watching.
* Roland always being willing to get up in the middle of the night even when it is my turn.

These are just some of the MANY MANY things that I love about my family. I'll have to sit down and make a much larger list when I have more time. As I type Seth is determined to roll over so I don't want to miss it like in the middle of the night!

One more thing, Seth, Grammy, and I went to the Relay for Life Parade, Seth's first parade and he loved it. So many people to check out, he was in heaven!

We are going to see cousin Lexy's dance recital tonight, yet another first for Seth. It is a weekend full of firsts!

Houdini Strikes in his Sleep

I think that I need to install hidden camera's in Seth's crib because he does the strangest things in his sleep. We put him in one direction and he ends up sideways, upside down, and backwards when we go to get him up. Last night he had woken up in the middle of night crying, not sure why, but the interesting part was that when we went to check on him he had rolled over onto his belly and ended up at the opposite end of the crib. So he's screaming because he's not used to being on his tummy when he is sleeping and he's gasping for air while his face is being smushed in the mattress. I actually missed the whole ordeal, Roland was able to rescue him.

The sad part is that the actual 1st time he rolled from his back to his belly we BOTH missed. He was so close last night, but he felt that he could accomplish his goal in his sleep without us being there to cheer him on. So, I'm on the lookout now and so excited to see it with my own eyes.

Seth loves his new Jump-a-Roo toy so I had to take a pic of his legs, he's like a crazy man just jumping and jumping and jumping until he completely tires himself out.

Tonight we are hopefully off to the Relay for Life Parade, weather permitting! Other then that we have no plans for the weekend. I can't even remember the last time we had no plans. We are excited about it, but it is supposed to rain ALL weekend, yuck! We'll make due though. Hopefully I will have something exciting to report next week!

In closing take a look at this pic and tell me what you think my 4 month old son is trying to tell me!!!!! Just kidding!
